About one hundred years ago, in Selva Gardena, the first ski race of the Dolomites was held.  Following the event the first Ski Club was founded, it was named “Schi Club Ladinia Gherdëina”.
To celebrate this 100th anniversary we have decided to re-enact the first race to present the history and traditions of skiing in Val Gardena.  We would also like to thank our local athletes who through their successes have helped to make the valley world famous.
The re-enactment will be held on Sunday 15th February 2009 at 16.00, starting at the top of the Dantercëpies and finishing at the Piazza Nives in Selva.  There will be athletes using the original equipment and clothing used over the years from 1900 onwards.
