Do you know immediately what to do in case of an emergency? Do you feel well prepared? Ambulance or fire brigade are usually not immediately on the spot, but have to be alerted. What do with injured people? When was your last first aid course? Still too few people know what to do in case of an emergency and make nothing, out of fear. Yet, the emergency call 118 (112) and first aid basics are lifesaving measures.
1. Safeguard, if necessary, the damaged area
2. Call 118 (112) for help
3. Perform the live-saving measures
Tips for alarming:
- Who is calling?
- Where did it happen?
- What happened?
- How many injured?
- Which is the nature of the injury?
- Wait for queries!
In case of rescue with helicopter:
Inform the operator of any obstacles which could be encountered by the Helicopter Rescue Service, weather conditions, electrical cables, cable cars etc. The clearer information you give, the easier it is for the Rescue Service.
