The old rail way is the perfect trail for a jogging tour through the valley. Starting in Selva it passes through S. Cristina and ends in Ortisei. The trail is perfect for all the joggers which loves the flat runnings stail without any different of highnesses as this way is almost flat

The Val Gardena rail tracks course through the whole valley on a sunny stroll across forests, meadows, villages and local sights. Choose from Roncadizza, Ortisei, S. Cristina or Selva as a starting point. The walk follows the old rail tracks of the Val Gardena locomotive built during WWI (1915-1916) by Russian prisoners. Information boards are scattered along the route, detailing the story of the railway which puffed its way through the valley until 1960. In this way, hikers and walkers may learn about the history of the billowing steam locomotive and an important chapter of Val Gardena history.
