News for the winter 2017/18 in Val Gardena
A new cabin system “Piz Seteur” boasting a Pininfarina design will be operational in Val Gardena!
From the beginning of the 2017/18 season winter sports fans will be able to make use of a new modern connection system in Val Gardena with the Sellaronda: the new 10 seater cabin system “Piz Seteur”, is being introduced by the company of Piz Sella S.p.A. from Selva Val Gardena and it will adopt new standards of comfort, safety and performance. The cableway, of Leitner company origin, will be made up of two sections and will consolidate Val Gardena’s position of introducing quality transport systems into the area as well as bringing a new look to things: the intermediate station and the cabins themselves are among the most recent creations of the Italian Pininfarina design. The valley station was designed by Perathoner Architects.
The middle station will be next to the Gran Paradiso chairlift and the Comici II chairlift.
The cabins give both more space to customers inside the cabin and wider embark areas and so making it easier for all to board the cabin. The intermediate station is an example of perfect equilibrium between the most modern design and accurate planning in the initial project stages, and will bring a series of advantages to customers, comfort of passengers included.
And there is more besides! The system will stand out for another technical factor: thanks to the reduced speed at stations being reduced to 65 seconds with 6 cabins open there will be more time to get in and get out of the cabin in a safer and stress-free manner. With its 77 cabins (each with 10 seater) the “Piz Seteur” system will have a total capacity of 3450 persons per hour.
For the next winter season 2017/18 the first lifts ans slopes in Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi and the Sellaronda should open the 06.12.2017.
From summer 2018 concept of sustainable mobility
From summer 2018 in the Sassolungo and Passo Sella area there will be a new concept of sustainable mobility. Thanks to the chairlift “Gran Paradiso”, using the two lifts, it will be possible to reach Passo Sella from the carpark of Plan de Gralba in just 25 minutes. In this way the Pass will also be reachable easily on the traffic-free days.
Three new mountainbike routes
Summer 2018 will also hold surprises for mountain bike users: at the foot of the Sassolungo there will be 3 new routes realised.
New skilift Furdenan
The Furdenan skilift in Ortisei/Oltretorrente will be replaced by a newer and longer ski lift. In future it is even easier to ski from Furdenan to the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi cable car. At the same time children and youngsters, always in the Furdenan area, can look forward to a new snow park.
