The cycle path in Val Gardena

The Rodaval cycle path is a scenic and enjoyable route that allows cyclists to experience the beauty of the Val Gardena region in Italy. Starting from the picturesque village of Roncadizza, located at an elevation of 1130 meters, the path winds its way along the Derjon stream, providing cyclists with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

As you ride along the path, you'll have the opportunity to stop in the charming villages of Ortisei, S. Cristina and Selva Val Gardena, where you can explore local shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. The route is mostly asphalted and easy to navigate, making it suitable for cyclists of all skill levels. However, there are some climbs into the valley that may be challenging for some, so using an e-bike can be helpful.

The cycle path is approximately 10 kilometers long and has an altitude difference of 430 meters. It can be traveled in both directions, allowing you to choose the best route based on your preferences and abilities. Overall, the Rodaval cycle path is a fantastic way to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Val Gardena region. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just looking for a leisurely ride, this route offers something for everyone.

IMPORTANT: It's worth noting that the section of the cycle path between La Poza in Selva and S. Cristina is not yet completed. However, there is an alternative connection available via the former railway path, which provides a safe and enjoyable detour.
