It’s time for pure excitement during this summer for children between 6 and 12. The children taking part in the ‘Val Gardena Kids Active’ animation programme, from 29.06.2026 to 28.08.2026, will learn all there is to know about the Dolomites, a treasure trove bursting with adventure and small natural works of art. Five days a week, from monday to friday, children can dive into a world packed with incredible experiences! What do cows on a farm eat? Is climbing difficult? Why do the woods smell so good?
Children never stop asking questions as it is. The active weeks will provide them with all the answers they’re looking for, in the guise of fun. Meanwhile, the sporty guides will accompany them throughout the day. Bring on the summer!

The weekly program

Monday: Little Horse Lovers and Wooden Toys

There is always a lot to discover at the riding stable, and around 20 horses are already waiting for curious children. But have you ever wondered what horses like to eat, how much they drink or how old they can become? After grooming and brushing our horses, you can ride a few laps in the arena. At the end it gets sporty: during vaulting you can try balancing on the horses’ backs and performing small exercises. A day full of movement, fun and horse happiness.

In the afternoon we will visit the Museum de Gherdëina, where the exhibition dedicated to the wooden toys of the company Sevi tells the story of the long woodcarving tradition of Val Gardena. At interactive tables you can play, experiment and discover how wood can be transformed into shapes, colours and creative ideas that have made these toys famous all over the world.

Tuesday: Brave Mountain Climbers and Forest Adventurers

Early in the morning, you and the other explorers will try your hand at climbing during a trial climbing session with the ‘Gardena Guides’ mountain guides at the Nives climbing gym in Selva – a first-hand introduction to the world of indoor climbing.

In the afternoon, you'll follow the signs of nature on the Path of the Eagle at the entrance to the Vallunga. You'll discover the new adventure world "Valtoi" with the adventure fence and feel nature barefoot along the sensory path. You'll also learn interesting facts about the forest and its inhabitants from our nature park guide.

Wednesday: Brave Bikers and Excitement of Farm Adventures

The Mountain Bike Skill Park Palmer is the perfect place for you to prove your mountain bike skills. As a beginner, you’ll learn your first steps on the bike, while more experienced bikers can try skill exercises on different biking courses.

On an exciting guided visit to the Milan farm, you will experience what it's like to live in the middle of nature. Of course, you can watch the farmers at work! You’ll have the chance to feed and pet cows and calves, watch how cows are milked, and taste homemade products.

Thursday: Yoga & a Culinary Forest Experience

In the morning, children take part in a yoga session where they discover well-being through body awareness, movement and creativity. Through breathing exercises, simple activities and different poses, they learn in a playful way to listen to themselves and connect with nature.

During the search for natural materials, children get to know the diversity of the forest's treasures. During the following preparation of special dishes “cooked” with fresh leaves, colorful buds, and fragrant herbs, the little explorers can unleash their creativity. Finally, the children can enjoy self-baked bread on a stick over the crackling campfire!

Friday: Miniature Worlds and Busy Bees

Early in the morning, we set off to visit Ewald. With lots of love, he built a tiny miniature world. In this world, everything looks like it did in the old days. Ewald put so much effort into making everything look real. There’s so much to discover!

Children love honey: it’s sweet and yet still healthy. But how does honey get into the jar? In the afternoon, the children will visit a beekeeper in Selva, who will talk about the profession and the importance of honey bees. The kids will also have the chance to observe how bees work.
