The special award for everyone who wants to experience Val Gardena on foot
If you are not just a keen walker and mountain-lover, but something of a sportsman (or woman), you might be tempted to go for the Val Gardena walker's pin "Cristal d'Or": available in gold, silver, bronze or rock crystal! Plus a fine certificate as a special souvenir. All these also to remember the many exciting moments experienced in the Dolomites. Ask at the Tourist Offices for the Val Gardena walker’s booklet. To collect the points needed for the awards, you simply have to have your card stamped in the various refuges, lodges and huts you come to during your walks. The more demanding the hike to the hut, the more points you get.
Points can also be collected by participating at the Val Gardena Active activities.
The digital hiking award
From now on it is also possible to achieve the hiking award digitally. The procedure is very simple: all you need is a smartphone with NFC technology and an APP (iOS and Android or alternatively online). As soon as you reach a hut, simply place your mobile phone on the signboard in order to collect your points. It is necessary to register for the service before use. The APP offers many other possibilities in the field of hiking that will be developed in the next months.
Currently Val Gardena is the only destination in the Dolomites to offer this system exclusively, developed in collaboration with the Austrian leader SummitLynx New Media.
Cristal d'Or - pin
When you reach the respective number of points (using the digital hiking APP) and for a contribution towards costs of only € 5.00, you can also pick up the respective clip-on hiking pin "Cristal d'Or" in one of the three Tourist Associations in val Gardena. The "packaging" includes:
- Cristal d'Or" pin in the bronze, silver, gold or crystal versions
- Diploma in printed form
