Dolomites Val Gardena is your holiday destination at the heart of the Dolomites and can be reached quickly and easily in many different ways. If you’re coming by car, simply take the A22 Brennero motorway; if not, you can also take the train, bus, or even the plane! Shuttle and driving services are available every day from different airports directly to your hotel.

Travelling by car

Val Gardena can be reached using the Brenner Motorway (A22). Coming from the north, follow the route Innsbruck - Brennero - Chiusa. Coming from the south, follow Verona - Trento - Bolzano. Take the Chiusa/Val Gardena exit. Following the well-marked roads, you should reach Ortisei in about 20 minutes, then S. Cristina and Selva Gardena. At the end of the valley, you come to the Dolomite pass ways. They are only a few minutes away. You do not need a car to get around in Val Gardena. The lifts depart directly from the single towns and there is also a good organised bus service.

The dispenser is situated in Ortisei in Val Gardena at the ENI-petrol station on the northern village exit (GPS: 11.68550 longitude - 46.56780 latitude). The refuelling time is of approximately 4-5 minutes. At this gas pump two vehicles can be operated simultaneously.

Travelling by train

You have only to sit down and relax with your children ready to discover the charm and magic atmosphere of the mountains of South Tyrol. From Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium there are good IC and EC connections, stopping in Munich, Innsbruck, Brennero, Bressanone and Bolzano.

FRECCIALink Dolomites Val Gardena

In the Dolomites and Val Gardena directly with the "Frecce" of Trenitalia. Departures from Rome, Florence, Bologna and the main Italian cities. The journey continues with FRECCIALink. Arrival directly to Val Gardena: Ortisei, S. Cristina and Selva Val Gardena. And if you want to travel even more comfortably, take advantage of the "Easy Baggage" service. The DB-ÖBB EuroCity trains

The prices start from 9 Euro with the "Special Offer”; children aged under 15 travel free if accompanied by their parents/or grandparents. Val Gardena can be reached also by the DB-ÖBB EuroCity trains leaving from Venice and Bologna. Some trains stop in Chiusa and Ponte Gardena. A bus service or local taxis brings you from the train stations to Val Gardena. Some hotels arrange a pick-up service for you.

Connection ticket

There are tickets available for train connections in South Tyrol between Brennero-Vipiteno (Alta Val d’Isarco) and Bressanone-Ponte Gardena (Val d’Isarco) as well as the new connection ticket “Anschlussticket Südtirol” for DB/ÖBB travellers.

  • substitutes the „Mobilcard 1 day for DB/ÖBB travellers“
  • has a cost of 5,00 Euro and can be bought in the DB offices or directly on the Eurocity trains of the DB/ÖBB
  • the ticket is valid on the arrival day OR leaving day on all urban and extra – urban buses and on the ropeways of the integrated transport system of South Tyrol
  • has to be shown together with a valid Eurocity ticket of DB/ÖBB and it has to be reported the valid day
