A real challengeHERO Südtirol Dolomites

HERO Südtirol Dolomites

Thrill seekers will probably already have penciled in 15 June 2019 onto their calendars a while ago. The HERO Südtirol Dolomites in Selva Val Gardena represents one of the hardest mountain bike events for amateurs and professional cyclists. The competition is spectacular and a great opportunity for international professional athletes and ambitious amateur cyclists to come together, allowing them to pursue the same dream: race and conquer one of the two demanding distances.

Indeed, all participants can choose between two distances stretching around the Passo Sella and Sassolungo:

  • The classic distance comprises 60 km and 3,200 m elevation gain.
  • The marathon distance boasts 86 km and a total of 4,500 m elevation gain.

The route: uniquely beautiful and incredibly hard

Selva Val Gardena represents both the start and the end of the HERO Dolomites. The location is a beloved holiday destination in Val Gardena. Both the classic and marathon edition will take participants around the Passo Sella at the feet of the legendary skiing carousel, the Sellaronda. Participants have to be committed to the race because, after all, due to the length and the impressive elevation gain, preparing for this event is indispensable. And the same can be said about the will to master the incredible distances and shake off one’s own limitations.

You can sign up to the HERO Südtirol Dolomites 2019 by visiting the organiser’s Internet page. Women can also recharge their batteries during the race in the special HERO Women´s Lounge. The fastest mountain bikers will be rewarded with a prize money and of course there is the HERO trophy. The incredibly hard and LOVED mountain bike event is a veritable highlight for onlookers, too: an interesting fringe programme will also be part of the event, making it the perfect family outing.

On 14 June 2019, the day before the HERO Südtirol Dolomites, even children can have their moment of glory. HERO Kids kicks off in Selva Val Gardena and is a great event for small cycling fans that will put their skills to the test in a friendly ‘competition’ where all that matters is having fun on two wheels.
