30th Snow sculpture competition

The Snow Sculpture Competition in Selva di Val Gardena celebrates its 30th edition and once again promises a fascinating winter experience filled with creativity and originality. Large blocks of snow are transformed into impressive works of art that, thanks to their expressiveness and intricate details, seem to come to life.

First held in the early 1990s, this traditional competition has long since become a highlight of Selva di Val Gardena’s winter event calendar. For three days, sculptors and artists, mainly from the valley and usually accustomed to working with wood, give free rein to their imagination and create impressive figures out of snow. Visitors can watch the artists at work and see the sculptures gradually take shape, step by step.

The winners of the Snow Sculpture Competition will be selected by a panel of experts. In addition, a People’s Choice Award will give visitors the opportunity to vote for their favourite sculpture.

At the end of the event, the best snow sculptures will be honoured during the official award ceremony.
