Mushroom hunting in Val Gardena is regulated by provincial law: People over the age of 14 are allowed to pick up to 1 kg of mushrooms on even-numbered days. The purchase of the license costs 10,00 € + 1,00 € handling fee. Mushroom hunting is prohibited in the municipalities of S. Cristina, Ortisei and in areas subject to landscape constraints, as well as in areas where the landowner has posted an appropriate sign.
Thus, the picking of mushrooms is only allowed in the municipality of Selva Val Gardena.
