From winter 2025/26, helmets will be mandatory for all age groups
Since 2022, helmet use has been mandatory in South Tyrol – as well as throughout Italy – for all minors under the age of 18 when skiing, snowboarding or sledging. Starting from the 2025/26 winter season, this requirement will be extended to all indicated winter sports participants, regardless of age.
This means that on all ski slopes, snow parks and sledging areas, a certified ski helmet must be worn by every person. The new regulation aims to further enhance safety on the slopes, significantly reduce the risk of injuries and help prevent accidents while skiing, snowboarding or sledging.
Ski helmet: safety meets style
Modern ski helmets are no longer just protective gear, but also a fashionable accessory. Today, winter sports enthusiasts can choose between sleek minimalist designs or colourful trend models. Families and children will also find creative options that combine protection with individual style and perfectly match winter sports clothing.
